Competition Format

Divisions: Middle School, High School, College, Business.
Team Size: 3-6 members per team.
School Entry Limit: No limit on teams or students.
Game Platform: MetaCTF.
Skill-Building On Demand Labs: Opens October 2025, with on demand labs and monthly practice CTFs provided.
Leaderboards: Available for practice CTF and final Competition phases.
Coaching Insights: Game platform dashboard for coach to monitor progress of their students.
Registration Deadline: March 15, 2026.
Awards: Includes Best New Team for teams where all members have no prior cyber competition experience.

Registration Process

Fee is $500 per coach (not per team)
• Fee waived for all public K-12 middle schools and high schools in the Inland Empire. Private schools, charter schools, and college coaches are required to pay the fee. Scholarships will be available depending on funding.
• Coaches add teams and students via the Mayors Cup Coach Dashboard.
• Coach adds students to the game platform with a single click in their Coach Dashboard.
• Team members receive welcome and password set email from the game platform
• Teams must be finalized in the Coach Dashboard by April 13th, 2026.

Liability and Media Release

All participants (or parent/guardian) must sign a liability waiver and release form (provided upon registration).

Career Focused Podcasts

A continuing series of podcasts will be released featuring industry professionals who will discuss cybersecurity career pathways, internships, and apprenticeships.

Team Photo

Create a team image (.png or .jpg) using group or individual photos. Include:
• Student names (first names are fine)
• School name and logo (school colors encouraged)
• Team name
• Upload in the Coach Dashboard teams manager.

Kick-Off Ceremony

The coaches and players mandatory Kick-Off Meeting will be held prior to the competition at 8:30am (April 25th, 2026). It is important to join this Zoom event to hear the game rules and any last minute updates.

Fireside Chat

During the lunch break, join us for a chat with community guests about the cyber security industry and job opportunities.

Awards Ceremony

The awards ceremony will begin promptly at 1:15pm after lunch break and Fireside Chat. The Zoom link will be provided one month before the event.
